This forum is for artists who use a camera to express themselves. If your primary concern is meaning and symbolism in photography, then you've come to the right place. Please respect other
community members and their opinions when discussing the meaning of "art" or meaning in images. If you'd like to discuss one of your photos, please upload it to the photo gallery, and include a link to that gallery page in your post. Moderators: Irakly Shanidze, Megan, Asylum Steve
Perhaps all the other threads in this forum are confusing to some. It's a new forum and we're still getting comfortable with it so expect the topics to change and settle soon .
art is personal to a degree. if you shoot something that you consider art, and want to show it to others, it may so happen that they would not share your opinion, or, conversely, they would. if your photo makes a person experience, at least partially, what you felt an wanted to share with others, it is probably art.
another words, art is a personal experience conveyed to others in such a way that they cannot help but live through this experience with you.
I think the problem we are having here is that we are setting up Art as some high thing to aspire to, like the masters or something. The truth is that there is art in everything. If we are able to bring it out of the subject, thought, scene, idea etc then we can call it art but it doesnt have to come with bells ringing it is all around us everyday.
