American "Mechanical" 20 second low light exposure. I used a Snap-On flat-panel LCD droplight off to the left for lighting.

Vancouver has been under construction for a very long time. I guess that is one of the many side-effects of being the "host city" for the next Olympics. However, industrial machines that occupy ripped up "future sites" have been a fascination of mine lately. Here is one of the examples that I have taken over the years.

I went back out with intent and found a whole trove of mechanical things! I am actually always taking pictures of old mechanical things so it was nice to have some purpose behind it. Good project! The month's not over I might find a few more. . .

    Re: November project "Mechanical"

I am really impressed that so many of you impressed me with photos of mechanical stuff which is normally not an appealing subject to me. This was a good learninig experience.

I'm going from memory, but I especially liked the "snowflake" gears, the bearing, the vise and the LCD lit motorcycle. Those clean engines are in stark contrast to my dad's barnful of dirty ol' "junk." (He calls it good stuff!) Here's a few more.

Perhaps more "automated" than "mechanical" but vending machines in Japan are everywhere. I bet college kids could travel the entire country living solely off of these things.

Hey Cornish Rob! Welcome to PR! That's a very clean looking a-c engine you built there. Checked out your album and love your VW collection! I have bus envy for that Combi you have parked out front. Was hoping someone would post some VW based pics. I meant to get some of our 67 bug but just didn't get around to it.

    Cheers!
