A New Monthly Challenge

Hi all

In addition to the regular monthly theme, we are introducing a brand new Monthly Challenge. The Challenge will be different every month and will take the form of a very specific Challenge. There will be no winners, and no featured photos for this - it is purely for fun and for creativity. This will in no way replace the regular monthly theme, but is an addition to the Project Forum.

To kick this off, the May Challenge will be relatively simple (later ones may be more ummm 'Challenging'!) - it is called "The Postcard Challenge".

Imagine that you have been commissioned by your local tourist board/mayor's office to produce a Postcard to encourage visitors to your area. The Challenge is to produce an image suitable for a postcard (including approximate postcard dimensions) which shows off your area in an attractive way. You can include lettering (eg Greetings from Anywhereville) if you wish.

Please don't post here - a new thread for this will appear at the beginning of May.

I will of course consider any ideas/suggestions that people may have about future challenges.

Can I suggest you provide the dimensions for the postcard as there are several. I'm thinking UK, Europe, USA

Good point Roger. I was thinking 6x4 inches (or thereabouts).

Question about dimensions. I'm not good at the technical aspects - so if the post card is 6x4 - how would I figure out what the size of the image would be to post here? Thanks for answering my "photography for dummies" question.
