    Re: mjs1973 Congratulations!!!

WOW! Thanks Alison! I'll PM you my address so you know where to send my prize. I thought I read somewhere that the November project winner would get a 40D and an EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS, or was it the 600mm f/4? Either way, I'll get you my address. ;)

If anyone in interested, here are the specs on this image.

It was shot in Manual Mode, ISO 200, shutter speed of .4 seconds @f/8. Camera used is 300D (original DRebel), lens 24-70mm f/2.8L @ 60mm.

The two leaves in the BG are laying on a piece of black velvet. The red leaf in the FG is resting on top of my stack of extension tubes to help separate it from the other leaves. I sprayed all of the leaves with a little water. They were lit from the right, using a light box for viewing slides, and some white foam core board on the left as a reflector.

Good job, Mike. Hope some people look and see what kind of work is involved with taking a shot like that.

    Sorry guys.

    Thanks everyone!

One other thing I forgot to mention. I believe I used the Orton Imagery technique on this image as well.

Nice going Mike. A well deserved honor. Remember it is a rotating crown you have to pass it on to the next months winner.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Using stuff that's laying around to create a great image - nice job!

Hadn't thought about using a light box as a light source but it makes perfect sense seeing as it's a soft, diffused source and color corrected. (The word "duh" comes to mind!).
