    December project...portraits
Been a lot of people working on portraits lately so this month's project is portrait.
A good chance for those of us who don't usually do portraits to get some practice in.

Taken today 12/01/09 Newark Ohio at the Great Circle Earthworks, formerly known as Moundbuilders State Memorial, was built by the Hopewell culture approximately 2000 years ago. The circle is nearly 1200 feet in diameter and was used as a vast ceremonial center by its builders.

The Great Circle is one part of the Newark Earthworks State Memorial, the largest system of connected geometric earthworks built anywhere in the world. Octagon Earthworks and Wright Earthworks are both additional local sites that preserve other features of this majestic remnant of prehistoric Ohio.

Great shot! love the lightning, but on the picky side the only thing I would do to improve is make the face the focal point instead of the shoulder on first plane . Great image tho.

    Welcome to the forums, Allanah.
Would love to see this photo and others posted in our critique forum which I think gets more visits and thus more feedback.

I should have banned Alison from participating, but not really cuz I just love her work.
Love the one where she is holding the frame.

Shebang...and anyone else....don't be intimidated by our experts....be inspired instead.

"I should have banned Alison from participating." Well, what did you expect Frog? You knew I would be in here posting as soon as I had seen the word "Portrait" lol.

    "Alison your a monster."

I am sat here laughing at the comments, they are so sweet. Thank you all so much :)

Wait until you see the Christmas one's, which incidentally, I haven't taken yet lol.

Here are a couple of old files though, which I am sure most of you have seen already.

I shoot so much these days!
What with, joining my local photographic society in september and getting thrown in the Advanced grade, and also continuing to take part in photo projects and challenges, I have so much of fun

I took these the other day for the purpose of capturing my daughters "New Do".

    http://gallery.photographyreview.com...897bw_550c.jpg

Then they grabbed bananas and started using them as phones lol. Lisa ate hers and then decided to have a fun shot taken :D

and the last one I took at the same time for an "Oops Challenge" (which has managed to get me into the finals!)
So my bum DID look big in this!!!

Awww don't be like that JB. They are great shots.

Love her nails. I used to colour each of my nails a different colour when I was at school.

And the second shot is so sweet. You can tell how cold she is by her body language. Your pictures say alot to me
