Unsharp mask and printing...

Hello guys,

I know that one shouldn't sharpen a picture before resizing it as it will actually affect the sharpening effect.

I send my pictures to my usual lab to have them printed in 8x12 (full size files of 2000x3000 pixels). I never used the unsharp mask on a picture to be printed so far and I am wondering if they are resizing them somehow before the printing.

I have a REALLY easy answer for you. Call the lab that does your photos and ask them if they get resized/sharpened or whatever other questions you have. You might also ask them the best way to prepare your image before handing it over to them for printing. They might have some recomendations for you that will improve the results.

I though there could be normalized pro lab procedures some people here would be aware of. Oh well.
