    Printing Problem

When I print using Photoshop 7, OR Photoshop Elements, I cannot get the picture centered on the printed page.
The left side of the page (Printing Landscape) has about a 1/16" white line before the picture begins, and then the right side cuts off 3/8" of the picture.
I am using an HP Photosmart 7660 Printer, but, I tried printing on a HP fax/printer & I get the same problem, but not quite to the same extent - however, it is not centered.
I used Print With Preview & centered the image both by clicking on Center, and by doing it manually.

I printed the same picture on the same printer using the HP Document Viewer software that came with the Printer, and in that case it does center properly. So clearly there is something in Photoshop that is amiss. But odd that it is in Elements as well.

    Any suggestions?

(And then on to my next question )

    Thanks

    Re: Printing Problem

The way I now print - used to have all sort of problems

    1. Create a new image the size of your page your going to print to.
    2. Open the photo you want to print
    3. select the move tool and move the picture into the new image you created holding down ALT and SHIFT while moving into the new picture and drop.
    4. This will auto centre the photo in the new image.
    5. Print - I always preview first.

    Jop done

    Forgot

4a. If you want to resize hold the alt + sSHIFT key and grab one of the handles and it will keep the centred position while you re-size the picture.

    Re: Printing Problem

This might actually have more to do with the printer than Photoshop. I've never used an HP and it's been awhile since I've used an Epson, but I remember something along those lines and ended up having to run the image thru Epson's software in some cases. Just a thought...

    Re: Printing Problem

You have to make sure the printer drivers themselves are set to use borderless printing. Epson has a special setting for that, no idea where you would find it on your HP though. With hat turned on you should be able to print full-bleed.
