    Photoshop question....

    Hello All,

I noticed that some of the pictures posted here have copyright trademark on the pictures. I want to do that too.. but have no clue with Photoshop thing...

    I have Photoshop CS2 version..

I took lot of pictures of my baby and family... using my classic G1 and 20D... my wife want to put the date on the picture for keep track the growth of the baby...

The question is.. is there an easy way to create a layered or template or whatever the term they call in Photoshop... to accomplish this easy? I guess I can manually edit each picture and type in.. but that's time consuming.... beside it won't be conistent with the position and font, etc.

Can Photoshop capture the date and time of the file?

Thank you very much for any advices, tips, helps.

Hope you all have wonderful long weekend.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

The date and time are already captured in the pictures metadata. When you look at your pictures through the Bridge it will display all the info from the picuter either under the pic or on the left side in a separate little box. Making a layer over the pic that is visible with date probably wont be much of an issue but also including the time might be more labor intensive cause you would have to edit the layer for pretty much every photo. I know with CS2 there is a way to apply a chage to a batch of photos so there might be a way for you to apply the date layer to a group of photos, but I'm not 100% sure you can apply a layer in a batch cause I've never tried it.

    Roger,

Thanks for the link.. I downloaded the addExifDate1.4.js file... work great with CS2... I changed the font size a little bit... work PERFECT.

    Once again... thanks

BMWJNKY - Thanks for the info.. I know creating the layer is labor intensive.... That script file Roger gave the link... work great... 2 clicks.

    Re: Photoshop question....

A couple easy ways to add your copywrite info is to create a new brush with the info you want to add to your image.

Step 1: Go to File>New (any size will do as long as it's not real small) Choose the Type tool, click on your image and type the info you want. To make the © on a PC hold down the Alt key and type in 0169, on a Mac press Option+G. Choose a font you like.

Step 2: Hide the background layer by clicking the eye icon. Make sure your Type layer is still selected. Then select your text: Go to Select>Color Range, move the Fuzziness slider all the way to 299 and click OK.

Step 3: Choose Edit>Define Brush Preset. Enter a name for your copywrite and press OK.

Step 4: To use your brush, select it. Grab the Brush tool and then from the options bar at the top of your screen, select the brush you just made, and stamp your copywrite anywhere you want it.

This isn't my idea, just somthing I saw in Popular Photography.

Another way to do it is to create a new image with the info you want on it, just like you did for the brush method above, and then just save that image. When you want to add your copywrite to a photo, open up the image you just created, and drag the Layer with your info on it, into your image and presto.

Thanks Michael... I will try out tonight.

I like your pictures... and the way to create the border and frame around the picture. Would you mind to share your secret how you do it?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

I use a framing script that another member of these forums created. You can find them here.

I'm using the basic version, but he has one with more options.
