MS Digital Suite or Photoshop Elements?

I just got a Canon Rebel XT for Christmas and need some software. The software that the camera came with is not adequate. I was looking at either Photoshop Elements 4.0 or Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006. In Amazon.com, Elements didn't get very reviews from users. I don't have money for the Adode photosop and really don't need anything that complicated. Any recommendations on either? They cost about the same.

Eija, I have DIP 9 and was looking to upgrade to either the DIP Suite or PSE myself. Hadn't heard about unfavorable reviews for PSE, but I can tell you DIP 9 works great for me, although the Suite probably has more features. I find it easy to use. Hope this helps.

Also take a look at Picture Window from Digital Light and Color. This is an application designed specifically for photographers. I use it and like it. Same price as Elements. The only reviews here are from the very early versions from many years ago.

    Eija,

If those are your two choices, go with Photoshop elements. It is a stripped down version of the industry leading software.
