    Lightroom 1.3.1 Update

In case you guys didn't catch it, Adobe just released a small Lightroom update. According to the READ ME file, here are the updates:

    UPDATE FOR LIGHTROOM 1.3.1:
Lightroom 1.3.1 includes additional corrections for the following issues:
(These issues are specific to the 1.3.1 update. Lightroom 1.3.1 also includes all of the previous updates listed for Lightroom
    1.3 below)
    ● The Lightroom 1.3 Print Module could previously cause the application to crash on either OS X 10.5 or 10.5.1 during
    template usage.
    ● On Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.5.1, the import process from a card reader or other device into Lightroom could fail to import
all or a portion of the selected images.
    ● A decrease in Develop slider responsiveness introduced in Lightroom 1.3 has been corrected.
    ● The Lightroom 1.3 Develop module could cause the application to crash if adjustments were made in quick succession.
    ● Compressed raw files from the Nikon D100 were read incorrectly in Lightroom 1.3.
    ● A possible artifact in raw file support for the Olympus E-3 has been corrected.
    ● The Lightroom FTP Plug-in provided as sample code with the Export SDK did not function properly if the password
was not saved with the selected FTP preset.
    ● Editing or creating a new FTP preset immediately prior to using the FTP plug-in provided as sample code with the
Export SDK would cause the FTP process to fail.
    ● Using the Export as Previous option did not work with the FTP plug-in provided as sample code with the Export SDK.

I know some had problems getting the download file last time, so here are the direct links: http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/..._win_1_3_1.exe

And unlike the 1.3 update fiasco, this update works in Europe too !

    However I still have problems.
After working for about an hour, I get "out of memory error" or even "unexpected error" - even a total crash and burn.

Maybe you're just jinxed Paul...LOL Anyone over on the Adobe boards having the same problems? Mine's is running real slick now. Just burned all my original RAW files from shooting digital and all the finished tiff versions to DVD-R last night and then deleted them from my hard drive.

You didn't mention this on Saturday - still trying to work out what to do about Lightroom whether to buy it or not.

Roger I really like it. It's the best RAW editing software IMO.

Paul, I have received that Unknown error message once when I imported and converted about 6 gb of images and was working along on them a bit faster than i should have been. I had not been giving the program enough time to finish tasks before i was clicking on to some thing other. I just shut it down and it started up fresh and no problems afterwards.
Roger, this is really a great tool for importing your RAW images from a days shoot and organize them efficiently and quickly.

Aaron, burning your files to a CD/DVD is a good thing but more importantly you should be using an external hard drive, especially with LightRoom. (just in case you are not). All the changes and edits you do to a RAW image as well as the keywords for organization would be lost if your hard drive crashed. LightRooms back-up folder keeps all the info it applies to your files there.

    Re: Lightroom 1.3.1 Update

Lightroom can not use a network drive for its catalogue (grrrr).
So I have to use the local 300G D: drive, even though the images are on the 2TB NAS

    Re: Lightroom 1.3.1 Update

Got to order a new NAS, it's complaining "1.9T / 0.4 FREE" on the boot screen
But with Lightroom I can now remove all the full-size and 640x480 JPEGs because I can recreate them any time form the RAW images ... that will buy me some time.
