Help with skin texture!

Hey guys,
I wanted to know if any of you could figure out how this photographer gets his skin with the kind of texture he gets. When I open my stuff in raw its so clean and clear and this guys gets depth with his stuff just by the skin texture. I can tel you I"m pretty advanced at editing and no luck at all. Hopefully I'm missing something simple.

Hi Seb, I can't answer your question but you might try contacting the photographer and ask that person. Some people are friendlier than you might imagine.

The reason I'm posting is to mention in a friendly way that we try to discourage directly posting other photographers photos. It's a matter of copyright and respect. If you feel up to it, can you maybe modify your original post?

Oh, and I hope you can find some answers. Some people spend a lot of effort developing their unique techniques.

My final word is that you shoudln't assume the skin texture is all digital, I'm sure the light has a lot to do with it as well.

if it is all digital it a process of a lot of things. I can see posterizing, blurs, dodging, maybe even a layer of custom textures. It could be any number of things.
