    Help: Printing a panoramic...

After I took this panoramic picture, the owner of www.dropnzone.com (the best local bike shop) wanted to have it printed to hang in the shop. He thought he could send it in to Kodak to have it printed, but after calling them today found out that they do not print panoramics. So, I want to know if anyone knows of anywhere we can get this picture printed. It will be (about) 10 inches tall by (about) 7 feet 8 inches long.
    Any help would be great!

    Re: Help: Printing a panoramic...

I had a pano I wanted printed over a year ago. It was about 5' long. The best place I found to have it printed was at a local printing shop. They would have done it as a 4 color poster print for about $40. It wouldn't have been an actual photo print tho. I also checked with a local photo lab. He had a company that he uses who could have printed it as a photo, but it was pretty expensive. He also suggested having it printed as two seperate photos, and then lining the prints up and framing them together. That option was a lot cheeper than the signle photo print but was still pretty expensive, and who knows what the seams would look like. My final solution was to buy a roll of photo paper and prit it myself on an Epson 2200 (I think). We were never able to get the printer to take the paper properly tho, so that didn't work either... After all that, I never did get it printed...

I would suggest going the route of a local print shop and have it done as a poster print. Injket printers and papers have come a long way in the last couple of years and I bet the results would be pretty good and the cost would be a fraction of having it printed as a "photo".

Thanks... what do you think about this place? http://www.ezprints.com/ezdirect/pro...?Type=Panorama

Also what is the difference between a photo print and a poster print? Is a poster print done on different paper?

Check with the companies who do architectural printing near you. Before retiring I did similar things on an HP 5500 plotter. If you are having it printed on wider paper make a picture of two or three of these one above another rather than having a lot of wasted paper.
Another place to check might be a local college/university.
