elements 5.0 won't open raw files?

I spent two or three hours tonight shooting some backlit daffodils using raw with my D80.
After downloading them, elements 5.0 said it couldn't open them because it was the wrong kind of file.
Yes the plug in for opening raw nef files is there and I've always been able to open whatever I shot in raw before.
I'm hoping there is something simple that I'm overlooking but can someone tell me what it is. I know I'm techno challenged.

Hi Frog ... are you absolutely sure you have the newest upgrade from Adobe? From memory the D80 was included in the last one along with the Pentax K10D. It's the only thing I can think of. In any case, even if you are up to date, it can't hurt to reinstall the newest CameraRaw just in case it was corrupted.

Hey frog!! I also have the D80 and elements5.0. I just had the same problem. I had to update from Adobe website camera RAW Latest version. It solved the problem for me..............Good luck:thumbsup:

I reinstalled the 3.7 plugin last night but it didn't help.
I had installed it when I was using the trial version but when I bought the full version it didn't seem to need it.
I'll try it again later though.

I had the same problem after installing the plug-in. I keep getting an error message "error parsing files".
