    Digital Microscope--new toy

I bought a Digital Blue Microscope at Blacks Cameras for $50 today. It's a toy with many limitations but it can make some interesting pictures at maginfications of 10x. 60x, or 200x (so far I haven't been able to do much with the 200x--lighting is a problem). I just played with a little with the following results.

    a penny at 60x

    piece of onion at 60x

Not great but it could be interesting.

This is pretty neat Don. I have often thought about getting a microscope and mounting a DSLR to it. For $50, this looks like it could be a lot of fun to play with.

exactly. The photos are primative VGA quality, but perfect for the internet.

    Looks like fun.
    What are we looking at?
My guess on first is part of a leaf and on the second a paint chip.
