Caputring High Res photo's through a direct feed.

Using a Nikon 4500, attached to a microscope through an eyepiece dongle. I am viewing the images or the camera feed through a moniter that is attached to the camera via video cables. I want to keep on viewing the images on the moniter but not through the eyepiece.
I can capture frames or imaes to the computer but they are all low resolution and not the
4meg's that the camera should be taking. What cables, equipment, software do I need to get high resolution pictures while maintaing my view through a moniter (makes it easier on my neck, after long hours of work).

    Thanks very much.

Well, this isn't going to be to much help since I don't know of anything that will work with your camera. Here's a link to Nikon software for the Coolpix 8400, 8800, L1, and L4: http://www.nikonusa.com/template.php...roductNr=25692

If you're using Linux there's a program called gPhoto: http://www.gphoto.org/doc/remote/

And Breeze Systems makes the type of software you're looking for, but it's only for Canon cameras. They may know of another software package for Nikon cameras: http://www.breezebrowser.com/products.htm
