    Calibrating Samsung LCD

I'm looking at buying Lightroom 3 and want to know if I should calibrate by LCD screen.

Are there any default settings I can use for my Samsung P2050?

    Currently have the settings at:

    Brightness: 40

    Contrast: 60

    Sharpness: 52

    Gamma: Mode 1

Red, Green and Blue: All 50

    Every screen is different.
So you need to get something to read the light output and calibrate it, setting the curve for each colour so that it is the right shade at each brightness step.
I use a gretag macbeth i1display to calibrate my monitor.

You should definitely calibrate your LCD screen but, as SmartWombat said, you're going to need to spend some more money to do it right. The two main companies for monitor calibrating equipment are Gretag Macbeth and Datacolor / ColorVision. I've used hardware and software from both and they both work great. But don't think that you can get accurate color without hardware calibration gear for your monitor. It's pretty much impossible. Make the investment so you can be confident you're seeing what you're supposed to be seeing
