    Automatic backup software?

I currently have a 500 gig internal hard drive and a 500 gig external hard drive. I usually download my important images to the internal, then make a DVD backup and then lastly transfer the images as well to my external hard drive.

My problem is I sometimes forget to move files over to the external hard drive (especially when it's just one image or something). Does anyone know of any good software that will automatically recognize when a file is placed into a specific folder and then automatically copy that file to a matching folder on the external drive?

    Thanks!
Feel free to make my photos look better than I can

If you have a broadband connection, you might want to give Carbonite (www.carbonite.com) a try. It is a continuous online backup for $50/year for unlimited storage that keeps track of changes just like you are talking about.

I tried it and it worked well (mine on Vista, XP available as well. Mac in August). But the only broadband connection I have is at school so it wasn't very practical for me.

I think uploading 25 gigs of photos at a time would probably be the end of me I might have to look at setting up a RAID system next year.

Only the initial load is 25 Gig. Carbonite just updates/adds new and changed files as necessary. Yeah, 25 G is a lot but with real broadband (not the crummy 768K DSL nonsense) of 2 MB/s or better it would do its work overnight or maybe two for the first big one. The updates are unnoticable and fast.

I should have been more clear. I have about 400 gigs worth of photos on my machine. I end up with about 25 gigs after a wedding to backup. For now I think I'll just have to remember to do it on my own.
