    16 bit TIFF

    Hello everyone,
I've got a question. Is there any real reason to convert and save my RAW files as 16 bit TIFFs? In Raw Shooter I have the option of 8 or 16 bit files. I know that 8 bit RGB gives 16.7 million colors. 16 bit would give A LOT more than that. Can my printer even display these? (R1800) Or are they just useless bits of data clogging my hard drive. PS 7.0 won't do layers with 16 bit TIFFs either. Should I just stick to 8 bit?

Just save your RAW files. If you need/want a 16 bit file for that much more color later, you can then produce one at will.
