Fantastic mood in this one, you captured the girl sopt on in my view.
The only issue I have with this photo is that the sky is far too bright - it really distracts your wye from the girl, swho is of course th subject in this photo!
Would be good I think either to crop some of the sky out or perhaps darken it/replace it with something moody and brooding...depending on what technology you have!

I really love this image and would have been delighted if I'd captured it. The mood is great, and I love the ripples spreading across the water. I'd agree that the top is not really adding anything, it is too bright for the overall mood, which should be softer and gentler, but that's very easily fixed.

I gotta fully agree with what was already said. This is a superb shot. In fact, I can't recall having seen anything that moody here, seriously. The size of the girl is just right. She clearly stand as the main subject yet she doesn't stand to the point of becoming overwhelming which allow the viewer to appreciate the surrounding landscape to its true value. But.... The sky is too bright nor to say overwhelming. It is a shame because I think that the top part of the trees old great interest. Taking that into account, I would crop say 1/5 of the top and slightly crop on each side to preserve the ratio.

A few more like this and you will be ready to have a show. This is a really sweet and even heart touching image Walter. It's just beautiful. I was botherd at first by the sky being so blown out but I soon came to see that it played a very important role in setting the ethereal mood of this image. Nice job.

I disagree about cropping the tree tops. One can often associate that sort of light with heaven, hope, or even a since of guidance. With the girl being so small in the frame, the forest floor being darker, and the winter trees (most often associated with death in the great literary classics), THIS viewer feels a since of loneliness and sadness, but beautiful. (There was a lecture given at my Uni. a couple years ago called Beauty and Terror… ah.. too long to get into for this post) The chaotic sharp vectors created by the leafless branches create even more confusion, which mimics the mood the photograph is creating. Countered visual, of course, by the smoothness of the rippling stream (emotionally and symbolically rippling can suggest heavy feelings of contemplation. As water is always changing… always moving… time… thoughts…) And this rippling water is directly beneath the bright open sky. What if the photo was darker and the sky cropped out? Completely different mood. I feel it would have an inescapable quality to it, directing the view to only sadness. Question? Why did you compose the photo this way in the first place? You may find the answer there. Great choice on tint.

Love the shot... I would crop a bit at the top, but not too much. Maybe just the most blown out branches at the very top. My favorite part of this picture is the mist in the background. That sets the mood as much as anything else.

I would agree somewhat with the comments already posted, and that is to crop a bit of the top. If you do this though, I wouldn't crop more than an inch or so off. A bit of open space above the center trees adds to the overall feel, and that should certainly stay. Other than that, the way you caught the ripples in the water here is excellent, and the scene overall is absolute magic. There is such emotion here that you could write a book around this one.

Wow. This is terrific. I have to agree with suggestions for a crop to eliminate the bright top - perhaps a square crop works here. I think this is one shot where a feathered ellipse would also work, enhancing the dreamy feel. I think the slight cool tint you've given also enhances the contemplative feel.

I agree with most people on this, crop out a bit on the top. Colour isn't really necessary, the b/w give it a good mood along with the mist. Overall it's an excellent shot.
