I've owned horses in the past and this is so typical that they want what is on the other side. I like the composition of the photo, too.

I like the composition and the situation is very familiar to those of us who have been around horses (and kids, for that matter). There seems to be a blue cast to the manes, withers and necks, but perhaps they were dusty and that is what I am seeing. Not sure what the light colored disturbed earth is on the hillside in the background, but I'd be tempted to clone it to grass, as it is distracting. I like your -Ev frame, will you share how you made that?

    Thanks all for the comments

Ken the edge was quite easy in PS. Using the Rectangular Marquee tool select the whole image, go to " edit " then down to " stroke " select color black and in this case 50 pixels for stroke width. Once the border has been placed on the image select edit again and use the " Fade " function until your happy with result.
Agreed, that land slip in the back ground does need to be cloned and the blue cast may be due to it being a very bright blue sky when this was taken. Both issues fixable

Re: Yep grass sure is greener

The high sun has blown out the horses snout on the left, the blue trailer in the back seems to distract by its placement and color, and the horse on the right is hiding his face. The semi-opaque border isn't doing this shot any favors either. Excellent sharpness, and aside from the blown highlights a great treatment of the exposure and colors.
