    Re: Yellow dung-fly

I think the focus is very good in all 3 images. It is difficult to achieve this, especially with live subjects. I like that you oriented the camera almost perpendicular to the subject, which allows you to get as many areas of the fly into focus. The mating shot is even more interesting, as it gives us a much more macro view into a world around us which we don't really see. I would prefer the title not to contain dung-fly as the beautiful flowers seem ton contradict it ...great job.

Love the detail in the images, the third image is my favourite with the soft focus flowers surrounding them.

The first image appears to be almost 3d. Nice work.

Incredible! How many shots did you actually take to get these little creatures so sharp and in focus? What kind of camera, etc? And, the big question, why are the male species almost always the more colorful? Thanks for sharing. I can't stop looking at all the fine little details. Don't think I've ever seen this kind of fly. Are they common to a specific area?

Let alone a live subject on a moving target. Not only do the flies move but the stem itself is probably either swaying or difficult to stabilize at best.

    Well done.

Love macro shots, showing all the detail a bare human eye would miss.
