I've been shooting a lot of b&w lately and could use some critique.

If you had moved to your left just a tad so the dark area was behind his head this would have been even better. I also think you could crop a little tighter from the top and right.

It's a very nice image but I think it would have been even better if you had allowed us to see the rest of the tool the child was using and what he was actually doing. Also the sun on the lawn is a bit too hot.

Agreeing with the previous comments, perhaps these compositional issues could be helped by cropping some off the top and sides to even it out more. Might also sharpen it a bit. As far as the B&W, I think it's working.

The hot sunspots were the real disappointment. I foolishly didn't stop to review any of the images while I was shooting.
