You should have someone cut down that tree on the left...it's intruding into the frame;) . Aside from being a bit dark, it's a lovely shot.

Hi GRF -

Not bad, but somewhat pedestrian. Even though it is a lighthouse, that fact is almost lost by the emphasis on the house and foliage. The vegetation could be used to spruse up the scene, but here it looks more like obstruction. Also, perhaps its not the best time of the year for greenery, I dont know if the trees and grass will very be very exciting in the winter. I also agree that it's too dark, probably by a good 1/2 to full f-stop.

It's not a bad subject. You might want to try some other angles esp ones that emphasize that its a lighthouse and see what you get.

I do agree that it is probably a little dark, but I'm really digging your conservative use of color. You've got splashes of it here and there, and it makes for a nice dramatic effect. Also, is it just me, or are the lines on the house siding making odd patterns on anyone else's monitor...? That was my first impression of the shot, and it's REALLY distracting to me, but I have no idea if the effect is consistent with any other viewers. If so, then that's something to really watch out for when resizing your images for web viewing. Obviously that wouldn't be an issue on a photographic or full-resolution print.

It is a bit dark, as the first two responders have said. I agree a bit that the tree on the left is "intruding" into the frame. It's not a picture ruining thing, but it'd be nicer without it, in my opinion.

Like McMadCow said, the lines on the siding of the house are making odd patterns for me, also. That was the first thing I noticed as well.

It also kind of makes me think a storm's coming. I'm not totally sure why.

This was taken on Saturday, Sunday it was rainning, Monday it was back to winter weather. Yes the down sizing of the photo messed up the siding.

I'll posting a different view, and the down sizing did not mess it up.
