    Working

Was out shooting with friends today outside our photography building and my advisor was relaxing against the brick wall while watching us mess around and shoot. She was working on her cellphone when I snapped this shot of her. She had been complaining that she wasn't busy enough. Took this shot with the Tamron 70-200mm F2.8. I believe my ISO was at 200, shutter speed was at 1/640 and my Aperture was wide open at F2.8.

    Photography Equipment:

    Nikon D90
    NIkon D3000
    Nikon 50mm F1.8G
    Nikon 55-200mm F4-5.6G
    Nikon 18-55mm F3.5-5.6
    Nikon SB-900
    Tamron 90mm F2.8 macro
    Tamron 70-200mm F2.8

Dolica 73-Inch Proline Tripod with pan head

    Re: Working

I always like unposed shots that show people as they really are.
I would crop a bit of the left but that's me.

I didn't want to put her to close to the edge of the frame. I was afraid that it would cause a tension point on the edge of the frame. I kinda like the room on the left because it in a way leads my eye to her.

But I agree with you about the unposed images. I love catching people when they're being themselves and are not aware of the camera being near them.

    Re: Working

What I sometimes do with shots like this is to overlay a set of lines dividing the image into 3 parts and I would crop it such that her toes ended at the second line.

A sort of rule of thirds horizontally...
Tiny difference but usually makes the frame more asthetically appealing..
