    At Work in the Garden.

Shot this at a 300 yr old Hacienda in the Yucatan (near Isamal). I’ll have one other in this series that I’m interested in your comments.
    I thank you in advance.

Tim, I like the textures in this a lot...and the inclusion of the wheel. The roof above the statue though is problematic...

I like the composition, adding that old wheel did a lot to add depth and a bit more interest.
I would have liked to see the roof with more separation from the bird bath. Overall a nice garden photo.

Would work well in a series, especially if there were more photos of the complete garden.

    Cheers.

OS, great shot...I'm in full agreement with the others about the roof...one other comment is the tree extending up from the right hand...it appears as if it's growing out of the hand. Very difficult shot, but all in all a great shot!!

    Thanks all...

    I appreciate it.

I didn't even notice that roof. But, now I see it. I was more worried about the brown mound to the left in the lawn.

I may be able to clone out that roof. It'll require some PS skills that I don't use much.

I love those faded out glipses of caribbean color in the concrete. You've captured the old construction of the hacienda, especially by including the wagon wheel.

On a side note, how is reconstruction/jungle regrowth in the NW progressing post-Wilma?? I haven't heard anything from my contacts down there and am wondering how the area is getting along.

    Hi Chris,
I've been here since December. The Mayan Riviera is up and running. There are still some obvious blow-down damage in town.

The forests have recovered nicely too. Near Cancun, the trees had a whipped/ripped look. And, this would fade as one drove away. One comment I get is that there were more birds before. They may take longer to come back.

    Cheers,
    Tim
