    Wooden Bridge

Found this while walking around Indian Lake. Thought it made for a good subject.

    Re: Wooden Bridge

its frustrating to watch something get buried like this.
its a nice shot but the composition is a little lacking. i think what would really boost this image is some symmetry to the shot by centering yourself in the middle of the bridge. i think with bridges its nice to see more of the other side as well, so possibly stand tall.
other than that though, there is very nice density and seperation of the foreground and background.
I don't want it, I just need it...to breath ...to feel ...to know I'm alive.

I don't think not being able to see what's on the other side is necessarily a bad thing. There's an element of mystery to this. What's over there--a garden? A nest of snakes? It's making me use my imagination.

I meant to post on this earlier. Overall this is not bad, it's just got nothing else there. If this were nearby I would log it away in memory as a great place to come back and do portraits at.

    Re: Wooden Bridge

Thank you all, I was hoping to get some feedback on this.

afdlps: This is one of the few shots that came out exactly the way I wanted. It was the lines and shapes that grabbed my attention. I did take a few other shots but this one captured what I wanted. I also wanted to take this with my best lens, which is my 50mm, which limited my shooting options. I plan on coming back and taking some more pictures, I will try some of your suggestions. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

John: Thanks for the Mystery comment. It was one of the reasons I went with BW instead of color.

ClKunst: I too thought that this picture could use another element but wasn't sure what would work. I like your idea of portraits. How would you position them in this shot? This is only 30 min from my house.

Any where on the bridge would work I think. If it were a location I was using I would try a variety of people positions, approaching the far side to walk over, looking over the rail, sitting on the steps on the near side, someone walking their dog across the bridge and all you can see is the dog and people ankles, etc. Best suggestion, take a friend and experiment until you get something you like.
