    Re: Withdrawal Cure!

I hadn't seen this when I commented on your other. This is definitely better. though the placement of the boats isn't as strong. I love the orange hues on top fading down and accentuating the shot here. I wish you had the boats as you did in your other with this sorta lighting. I'd also clone out or burn in the bright grass/bush on the top right. Good job though.

Ahhhhh, if only the boats had been turning or in profile. I also think the bush/brush/leaves (whatever they are) intrude on the picture, and should be cloned out. Great lighting though.

Radio control sailboats? I used to build a run radio controlled powerboats and planes. An excellent, but expensive hobby.
I agree with most of the critiques thus far, i would have liked to see one boat and it's profile at that. Also, the brush in the bg is distracting and could use to be cloned out or burned out. The colors of the setting sun are great and there is a mood here that i like from the colors and the ripples in the water.
Are one of these boats yours?

    All,

The bush thing is the hanging branches of a Willow tree, and the light was perfect for this shot. I did take many photos - some not so good. I will post one more later. The thing I liked was the symmetry of the boats but getting people to put the boats where you want them is difficult. I ran around a lot to try and get the right picture.

    Bush cloned out.

Gary, - No they both belong to my friend and neighbour but I am looking to get some retail therapy and get a £200 boat which is a model of a 72ft Americas Cup boat which is slightly bigger than the white hulled boat in the picture. Ken (friend) was helming the larger boat and my daughter the small blue boat. Playing with these did alleviate the withdrawl symptoms a bit.

Why are all my hobbies expensive?

Very nice picture. I actually preferred the picture with the willow branches left in. I liked the contrast in the back. It looks like a lovely setting.
