I prefer the second, with a simple frame, of course, it depends what you are going to do with it! I have to laugh because I've been posting crabapples too, yours look great against the blue sky, the colors are good, the texture of the snow too.

This depends on what you want to do. They are both very good and interesting.
I would say to hang in my home then it would be the bottom, but for my work portfolio or to sell as a Christmas card or postcard then its the top one.

I agree with Roger here in that both of these are good, for certain reasons. I like the first one best as it looks like a postcard/greeting card. The second will just make a fine image for the album or to frame on the wall. I like the image, whichever way you go. Good title as well
Thanks for the comments everyone. I used the blue-red gradient to see how it would look. I'll have both versions printed up and see how they look as hard copies.

If you want someone to appreciate your photograhy - the second.
If you want someone to appreciate your design skills - the first.
Both show a lot of artifacts that may be due to overcompression and oversharpening.
Very nice shots. Both versions are good, imo, if they are aiming at different audiences. The top one is a tourist ad, and the bottom is more of a internet photography forum shot, like PR (ha ha).
This was a nice capture btw. Shows what one can do if they look!
