Re: Wine Glass Optics. (3 pics)

I like the last two but the advert on the glass spoils the first by competing with the image displayed through the glass. In the third it works okay as the advert is not competing with the image in the glass and adds a form of tention.

One enhancement you could make is by using a clear white wine instead of the water to give a slightly yellow cast to the image in the glass. In the third I would clone or crop out the encroaching item on the bottom left as it spoils the image for me.

I really like #2 with the reflections in the glass and the lighting on the hand - excellent. A minor crop could be done up to the horizon on the bottom so its excluded could make it better.

    Nice concept.

I like the angle best on #1 and agree with Rodger on the color. I also feel it may be cropped a bit to much. I like were you placed the writing on the glass om 1 and 3.

    Hi,
I like the idea a lot. I agree with Roger that a plain glass should be used. I also like Photo 1 the most. Hope you will continue to explore this idea.

Put me down for #2. I love the light and composition, esp the partial hand rather than the whole. I do like #1, but don't know about just having the bowl of the glass just sitting on the edge of the image, like humpty dumpty on the wall. It would be interesting with the white wine, and I'd like to see that. But I also like that there is no other color competing with the landscape here.

Thanks for the tips, I might borrow some wine glasses and head out with some various juices and clean water *cheaper and easier to deal with than real wine.) and make a series out of this around town. I'll definately try to get a clear one Next time or rotate the glass.
