Hmm. I don't know what to say or feel here Mike. Seems to work in that you captured the subject well, with interesting lighting. Somehow it seems tilted even though it is not. I think this is because of the bowed left side of the frame. Not sure I like the black frame/mat here. It may be better just flat. Did you use a tripod?

I think it is easy to tell that those are at least three combined images. The window was shot in outdoor sunny condition, the statue was shot in indoor lighting, museum?. I assume you added the flowers. The bottom line it looks good to me and pleasing to the eye. The only thing I could pick on is that I see no need for the flowers, they're getting more attention than they deserve, I think they'll look better if you give them brownish antique look. thats my opinion.

    Very nice

I like it all form the shadows of the door handle to the bright pink flowers and the very symetric sculpture

    nicely done !

    Re: Window on the Soul

Thanks guys .. as I said, it is a work in progress. I think the central portion looks a little 'clean' (as though there is no glass) so I have experimented with adding some rain drops. I'm still playing with it.

The window is actually the inside of the 'little room' in my house. The statue (which came complete with flowers) was in a local art college.

The idea came to me when I was mulling over my camera club's annual 'Master Photographer' competition - in this competition each entrant has to enter five pictures creatively illustrating different set themes. One of the themes this year is 'Windows' - hence the treatment.

    Cheers

    Re: Window on the Soul

The way the window opens away made me think this was taken inside, this would look good with or without the flowers I think. Perhaps a little blur to simulate steam on the window . The water droplets on the window could be a little bit too large (excuse the oxymoron) as it wasn't immediately obvious what you had done to the window, but I'm sure you are heading on the right lines here.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I have no issues with you editing my photos
