    A Window Seat

I took this one roaming around an old factory. You might have seen other pictures from here.

This reminds me, if you dont mind me saying so gary, of some of Garys Inside Looking Out shots. i think you have got a fairly good result here too and it has that atmosphere. I would clone out that bit of plywood in bottom left corner and maybe add a bit of blur to whats outside the window as it competes a little with the main subject; the window seat. The chains on the seat give it a bit of the old Stephen King. I like it.

I must admit, I thought of Gary when I found this in an old abandoned factory and he was the inspiration behind it. Not to be a copy cat and give credit where credit is due. I am glad you like it. I should have added an inspirational footnote.

    Gary,

I like the plywood but agree with Tom about the blur. However I would probably desaturate the wood as well just to give the chair its focus.

So many questions about the factory and why and what the chair is doing here.

    Re: A Window Seat

Greg, sorry i missed this one. what a great find in this place! I think you did well and using Toms suggestions would certainly improve. I would also like to see you tone down the harsh contrast that happens when the bright light of outside blows out and also causes the inside to underexpose too much. The hightlight/Shadow tool works great but I think you said you are using PS 7 and I do not think you have that tool there. I got a good result using curves by applying a sort of backward S as shown in the picture. I really like the ladder in the back leaning up on the window sill as well, and did not really notice it until I applied the Curve in PS. Good find and execution, Greg.
