    Wild iris

    These things go crazy every spring- some places are veritable carpets of purple. It's hard to decide which one to shoot! I was experimenting with selectively focusing on only one petal. What do you think?

    Very nice looking, but I wish they were larger so we could see more detail. Must be national iris shooting month! lol I had shot some (and framed them for a gallery show) late last month - maybe these will give you some interesting angle inspiration.

    Funny, your wild irises have so much more detail on the leaves, seems the bred ones lose that. Here's the links, won't post the pic on here because this is about your picture, and these are just for you for inspriration!:

    Those are very nice. I like how the black card has really emphasised the flower. I normally don't introduce elements into my photos of natural history-type photos, but the effect is worth trying. I wonder about other colors, too... I can't really post it larger because my scanner is a hunk of junk and it won't give me a higher resolution rendering of this slide. Oh well. Maybe some macro shots will be in order next year... thank you Janie!
