Boulder is known for its hippies. This grass is in open space in Boulder, hence the "hippy grass".

Pretty grass, but if there was something there to reveal what you described so we could see the background w/o the description, it might have been more interesting. I like the flower pic but it's a little too offset, and the center area could be sharper. Try sharpening up in PS or related. The colors are outstanding.

Agree with GB1 on both counts. The grass is cool - great color and DOF, but there is something lacking. The grass is more of a background to me than a subject.

Shot #1 would've been cool with a few #2's in it . Nice colors.
