Makes me remember the times dangling under a parachute coming into land and trying to pick a nice spot.
I think it wonderfull, been trying to follow all the streets and working out where they all go - now how sad is that!.
My only missgiving (nit pic) is there is not much room for the towers and the larger building top left by what seems a river bank. Just a bit more room on top would have been better.

I think it's wonderful. I have a few similar (but not very similar) shots of Florence. Now I'll have to revisit and tweak 'cause mine don't look nearly as good!
Amazing. Love the framing and definitely the perspective in this. was this converted from a colour shot? I'd love to know how you did that if that's the case. It has perfect tones IMO. Great shot!!

So many intricate details I don't know where to start but am instantly rewarded where ever I choose to look. This perspective is tremendous and I agree with Roger that it feels a little like I'm parachuting down over the town. (Even though I'd never pull a crazy stunt like that hang gliding is close enough to falling for my tastes!) Sweet shot. Now where is it?
Very nice, Tom. Your image drew me in and kept me for quite a while as I examned the corners and nuances.
Looks like it was taken with a wide angle lens that might have caused some barrel distortion - a little of it is seen on the right edge. A small perspective adjust would straighten that out - OR it could just be the angles of those buildings in the lower right causing me to be fooled?
Tuna; I never noticed it until you mentioned it. A couple of those houses on the edges could topple alright. Perhaps that's where the party is
Leels: I'n honestly not too sure what I did. Probably Channel Mixer to convert to monochrome and a little bit of curves and levels. Not much really.
Roger: I know what you mean about the space at the top. I'll have another look at the original.
CL: It was taken from the top of the Duomo in Florence. Wonderful 360 degree view of the city from up there.
Gary: yes thats the idea; busy and congested. Elsewhere it has been mentioned that it lacks a point of focus and needs a dominant subject (i was surprised to hear that).
Dbutler; Where in Florence did you take yours from?

Top of the duomo is where I got mine as well. I may post one later, though it will in no way compare to yours. The Duomo was the only one I could do as I have a great fear of heights that was sorely, SORELY, tested just going up there. So, I didn't go up the Campanille, nor the Tower of Pisa when we were in Pisa. Sigh. I'm a big chicken poop.
I have been looking at this for a few days now.
Although, it is busy and I'm not actually sure where to focus my attention I keep wanting to come back and look at it and wondering whether I should comment or not.
I am, as you have probably gathered, a portrait person. Maybe I keep looking in the hope that a person is going to walk round a corner and I can whip my camera out and take a picture of them lol.
I think I would like to have something to focus on, in the foreground, like a steeple or something. But then, that's just me I suppose.
Having said all that, the clarity and tones are wonderful. Good job!
