Yoyo, this is too good to let slip by with no comment. I like your b & w treatment here. It seems that the tones are pretty much dead on, and I like the activity. I don't know why more people haven't seen it.

This is well composed,
The sky could be more dramatic, but the center of interest pulls me in.
I'm looking at the sunday activity. Nice work in B&W.
Here is an excellent example of the careful patience I have come to look for in your photographs. I'm so happy to see this one! That's quite a tremendous diagonal parade of park-goers you have extending into the far distance. The bicycling woman gives balance and interest to your strong diagonal and leads the eye right to it. The space is luxuriously open in contrast to the cityscape in the distance. Focus and composition in sweet harmony. I could go on. . . Did you shoot this on film or digitally?
Just beautiful!
P.S. I just looked at it again and wanted to add my last impression, that the surrounding buildings almost seem to be peeking in on the people in the park.
A very clean and peaceful composition. I will disagree with others about needing more detail in the sky. . .this is one of those shots where the blank sky compliments the overall serenity and calming feel of the scene. It helps with the clean, peaceful feel here.
Great stuff
Hi John, Thanks for the kind words. I was attracted by the different activities in the park.
Hi Greg, Thanks for sharing your perspective. I agree that a more detailed sky would deliver a different feeling.
Hi S, Thanks for sharing your thoughts and suggestion about the sky.
Hi CL, Your are always too lenient to me. I like your thoughts which I had not thought about. I am glad that you asked about the exposure medium. It was shot on film with a Contax G2.
Hi Gary, I am glad that you like the shot. I am intrigued by the different opinions about the sky.
A truly well -composed and beautiful shot as far as I can see . I'm not sure which camp I lie in with regards to the sky, though. It'd be nice to have some detail up there, but I get the feeling that that might detract from the beautifully tranquil scene below!
As it is, the sky appears to have an almost 'misty' quality about it (for want of a better word), and it doesn't detract from the main part of the image - something that a lot of detail / clouds in the sky could do.
Congrat's on a brilliant shot, detail or no detail, it's hard to deny that this is beautiful!
Everything looks clean and manicured. I would like to have seen more people in the park to better convey the Sunday feel and I can then imagine the city beyond being empty for the weekend.
I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
