What's black and white and (brick) red all over?

This is a farm machinery place here in the great cosmopolitan metropolis of Clayton, NC. I love the building, with all its quirks (it's a little lopsided, having been built on a slight hill, and on one side the bricks are disappearing). But they take precious care of their painted sign. I think it's pretty cool (the building). I'll post a pic of the entire building so you can see what I had to work with.

Great color. The mule looks sorta Egyptian or Assyrian. Is there a time of day that has the wall lit well without the shadow from that wire falling within the frame?

Love the first one, but agree with Chunk about the shadow. Great contrast of red and black and white.

    Nice shot,

D, that first image is strong. I really like the white against the dark red bricks. what a strong visual. Chunk is right, the horse has an Egyptian style to it, i think it is mostly due to the eyes and ears. I would love to know the history behind that logo. Seems odd to me for an animal to be drawn in that style in the South.

It's funny but I find that attaching a blue band of the sky from the second one to the bottom of the first one improves the composition of the first and adds to the bold colours. Or is it a bit early in the morning for me?

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
