    Wet Paint

Well, probably not paint but what do I know. I know she's too centered but couldn't take the shot any other way. And I thought I might be able to crop her but no matter how I do it, because of how I shot it, she winds up in the middle anyway.

I aslo didn't do a very good job at the gaussian blur for the background (this was just after my D70 was introduced to Mr. Marble Floor and I think the sensors were out of whack, since it says the aperture was something like f4 or something ridiculously like that, and yet it looks (in the original) more like F11 to me!

At any rate, ain't she cute???

I think you are way too hard on yourself. Reminds of another struggling photog I know. ;) This, for me is a gorgeous shot. The painting is just low enough to not be direct center in the frame. Not sure what you were shooting for with the blur, but I like the effect you have there. It may not be totally blurred, but I think that is what adds to it for me. You can still get an idea of the surroundings. The colors are muted to go with the feeling of the day there. For me, I don't think I would crop it any more.

    D,

I think this is a good example of when breaking the rule of 3rds is okay. The blur looks good too. My only beef is that the umbrella doesn't stand out enough, but it's minor. Overall, I think this is a very good shot. The wet ground is great. It reminds me of New Orleans.

It's good. I think the lady should be in the middle. It all comes together in a wet streets of Paris impressionistic sort of way.

Wow D! This is the best one yet! I wouldn't fiddle with this one too much at all. Just put it in a frame, sign your name and collect the kudos.

The thought I have in viewing this image is the danger to the artwork of all the wetness around it. I believe your capture of the full umbrella and the wet pavement enhances that. Nice shot.
