    Website flash intro

I know that this forum is for critiquing of photographs, but I'd like some feedback on the flash intro I created for my website. Here is a link:

What do you guys think? Is it too big? Too long? Not fancy enough? Is the copyright too distracting? Does it add something to my site or would I be better off without it? Thanks!

    Re: Website flash intro

Not sure if it should be here for review, but it is photography so I vote for it.

First of all, good shots. The only common thing to watch out for is to keep your horizons level (fix the ones that aren't and redo the flash).

I really love the greens you have here. Another really nice thing is how the image work together and how they are all ~ the same density.

On my chezzy wide LCD laptop the pix are just too big to fit vertically and show the scroll bar. Always a choice to make on image size.

As I mentioned, I really like the pix. But I also feel that something is missing on the front page - music, border, ?? I would be interested in reading others' feedback to see.

    Re: Website flash intro

Thanks for your feedback. I had already decided to make it smaller for a couple of reasons. One because of what you mentioned about it not fitting vertically on some computer screens, even if it fits on mine, and the other because it is very slow loading right now. This afternoon it was much faster. Hopefully making it smaller will speed it up.

BTW, here is one I put together for my company website:

    Re: Website flash intro

From an asthetic point of view, it would be good to maintain continuity by adding a black border and tan background like the rest of the site has. I liked the larger pix better, but I have a fairly big monitor running high resolution, so I understand the compromise. I don't know that you need to tag every photo w/ copyrights or web addresses, if they are seeing the intro, they already know where they are. If someone is planning to snatch a photo, they'll have the ability to crop your tags out of it, and with the new smaller size, the photos won't have any commercial value anyway.

    Just my $0.02

PS Your translator is having some major difficulties on the TropicalForrest website too ;)

    Re: Website flash intro

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I've done some work on my flash intro and I think it's better. I agreed with jetrim's comment about the continuity but I wasn't sure how I could address that problem since GoDaddy, whose website template I'm using, does not allow anything on their flash intro pages other than the flash images themselves. In other words, only the photos without any backgrounds.

Then it hit me. I took the photos I wanted to use in my flash intro and I attached each of them to an image of one of my webpages including the header. Now when you look at it, it looks as if the photos are displaying on one of my webpages when the webpage itself is an image as well (kind of like a frame around each image). I don't know if that makes any sense or not, but it worked.

I also added "Click Below to Enter" to the bottom of each image to make the it easier for visitors to figure out how to enter my site. The link is so small that it's easy to miss.

Anyway, if anybody else has any comments, criticisms or suggestions, I'd like to hear them. Thanks!

I've addressed both of those concerns in the latest version of my intro. Check it out and let me know what you think.
