    We Moved

Almost next door from Nevada Laundry and on the same roll. What do you think?

    Re: We Moved

    Greg,

I see a crop here. I would at a minimum crop off that top part that shows the woods. It would flatten it out and make it look a lot better. I might also crop off a bit of the foreground, but still leave enough to show there's a street there. There seems to be a slight CW tilt, but it is very subtle and might actual be better, adds a little character, like an old building that is sinking / sliding down a hill (maybe that's why they moved!).

B&W is always fun, but it can also present some interesting problems. In this shot I am not sure of the density of the main wall. It seems too dark, but not sure if lightening it would be good either. This 'might' be a situation where color would rescue you from the tweens density issue here (if you have a color version, try posting it so I can see!).

    Greg,
I agree about the crop, although I like this as is, too. I do think it needs to be a bit brighter - maybe a little more contrast.

    Re: We Moved

I'm not feelin the crop suggestion for this. i like the woods in view over and behind the building. The only issue i see with the image is the lighting. Judging from the shadow line on the sidewalk it seems the sun was bright and slightly behind your subject, which is why the wall, rider and all else important is dark. I would just try going at this again in a better light.

I agree. The woods gives the photo balance. Without it, the picture would be bottom heavy.

Thanks GB, Liz, Gary, I agree the lighting could be better. I will see about a return. Thanks Don. The guy on the bike was actually going right and I flipped him 180 so he would be going the same direction as the arrow.

I think this helps to make the shot.

I like the photograph a lot.
