    Waves

Another architectural shot of a new building on the Miami waterfront. Had to re-introduce some detail into the clouds - too "hokey" or is it believable?

    Re: Waves

Hi Jetrim .. beleivable enough on the resolution we have here. I am guesing the curves on the building are a sort of tribute to the waves of the sea? There's potential there too for an abstract shot with the right angle.

The building looks sort of blue - I am wondering if that is its natual colour, in keeping with the wave theme, or if it is reflecting the colour of the sea and sky?

    Fascinating place to be sure!

    Cheers

    Re: Waves

Actually the blue comes from several factors, but I like the result...
1)shot on the shaded side of the building
2)glass does have a slight blue tint, and is reflecting the sky
    3)"velvia" film emulation mode
4)this is layered - sharp B&W with soft focus color overlay and a touch of Gaussian blur which tends to make the colors "bleed"

This is a fascinating building which is situated to look directly out Government Cut - the channel where all the cruise ship dock. If I recall correctly, 2 bdrm apartments start at a modest 1.8 million  (needless to say, there are PLENTY of empty apts to choose from at the moment)
Here's another clean view of the building with no PP except a low power high pass sharpen:
