    Waterfall, a close up shot

I was asked by a publisher did I have any winter shots from a State park. I really didn't have anything much. So I took this one this weekend and though it wasn't cold I tweaked the white balance to give it more of a cold winter feel to it. Let me know what you think. I am finding some love the blue tint others not.

A bit of sleight of hand with the coloring eh? Good balance on the shutter speed to get water wispy but not too milky. I'm sure the editor will like it.

I like it too but the composition seems a little tight. It makes me wish I could see up a little higher. The tint works well and feels winterish, although I'm used to things like ice and snow indicating it's winter but I suppose if this in in GA you don't get much of that sort of thing.

Thanks Matt thanks Cindy. It does get cold enough for ice from time to time the biggest issue is in the winter the falls are most often just a trickle.

    wonderful sshot

love the defined streaks of water and the overall blue tones

the water whirling around the stone at the bottom is a nice touch too

I think this one has a lot of promise Greg. I like the way it fills the frame, not trying to be 'artsy' w/ theoretical composition. The blue is OK with me. The only thing that somewhat bothers me is the way the water enters the scene from the top: it isn't coming in via a natural break, so the top seems cut off a bit. Otherwise, I really like it. The simplicity works.

Thanks GB I had the same thoughts about the top of the frame. I know it might sound a little strange but I was thinking of shaping this like a fireplace and instead of fire it would be water. Hence the close up.
