    Re: Waterfall

It's a nice image but since the waterfall does not appear to be very high, it might look better as a wide-angle image. I think your shutter speed may have been too fast, the water looks frozen.

    Re: Waterfall

I like the look of the fall, but it may not fit in with the rest of it. I love the colors, detail, and clarity though, and those little trees poking out of the rock to the right of the waterfall.

As far as shutter speed, I did everything I could to make it as slow as possible.

I think you captured the movement of the water just right. I'm not a big fan of very slow shutter speeds on waterfalls as the water ends up not looking like water anymore, Milk maybe!
So I think you got it right.

Exposure, shutter speed and the colour in the rocks work perfectly. A well-executed, extremely effective shot.

    Re: Waterfall

The shutter speed thing is a personal preference.
Some like the milky blur of slow shutter, some like the sharp frozen look of the fast shutter.
I like something in between which this seems to be.

    Re: Waterfall

Very enchanting photo. The greens and yellows work well with each other. The geometry of the shot is elegant. The only area I think that might have been better is if the bridge on top was prevalent, but I'm not sure - that could also introducing a man-made element into the photo (it's there as is, but not that obvious).

I like soft water, but normally only when you're closer. So I think the water worked out very well as is.

    Re: Waterfall

I like the composition a lot. I think you maximized what you had to work with as it is kind of a small waterfall. The color turned out real nice as well. Using, "soft" water I think always looks good for waterfalls in serene settings like this. Nicely done.

Thanks for your comment. I must have took about 20 shots and I chose this one in particular because it stood out.

Lovely shot. The clarity is spectacular and your exposure is dead on. I think this is one of those images where the smaller image limits it's true impact. I bet it would be spectacular if we could see it larger (8x10 or even larger). Well done!

    Re: Waterfall

Looks great enlarged. Not a critique, but I think I'd find myself trying to somehow capture just the neat little cacti thing on the right of the falls. They're pretty cool looking.

    Re: Waterfall

I'm going to to out on a limb here from what everyone else is saying. It's a neat shot, but it looks like something you'd see on a postcard. The problem is, I've seen this photos like this too many times before. I think it would be a really neat shot at dusk or an unusual lighted situation. I have more of a fine art background, so that's why i think i see it that way.

    Re: Waterfall

It looks great. Yes it looks frozen, frozen in time that is. And yes it looks like a postcard moment. That's why pro photos are on post cards, because they look good.

    Great photo. Frame it.

"Erdept" I apologize for anything that you might have found insulting. I meant it strictly as a helpful comment. I won't do anything like it in the future. Like you're avatar says "don't push me i'm ready to snap"
