Now I have to give this a try. This is terrific, but it looks more like a woman to me hehe!

Another title that struck me was "HEADS!"

Thanks Roger, anew and Bev! Maybe I should change it to "Person Under a Rain Cloud"...hehe.
Anew...I tried for a tighter crop, but it tends to lose the sharpness when I do that. I'm trying to work on that, because I'd like to take the rim of the cup out of these pics altogether, so that the size isn't that obvious.

    Thanks again!

I have never tried anything like this......how do you get this? What are your cameras settings? I think it would be a fun project to do.

Well, I see a man!! Must be a gender thing. Poor thing. I can hear "raindrops falling on my head" as his theme song. He looks despondent and it's like a boulder is abut to drop on his head.

This is such a cool series, Emily!

From the combination of blur and frozen splash, I guess 1/250 or slower with flash to freeze the drop.
I don't know how it works for sure, but I'd try putting in colour using a coloured plate, or paper, at the bottom of a clear glass - relying on the total internal reflection at the water/glass interface.

Well, I actually have been using the macro setting on my camera, since that's what I usually use for water drops...and I use translucent, colored cups...like sippy cups or like with this one, we have blue glasses that I used.
Then I figure out the rythym of the drops, and take a photo every 2-3 seconds to try to get it to form a shape like this.
