    Washington Monument #Gazillion

    Normally I won't post any of my images of the Washington Monument. They are just too common.

    But the sky was pretty good this evening so here you are.........

    I would have de-centered the monument. Beautiful sky though.

    I have to agree with Don, I can't settle that this belongs in the centre of the frame, a great sky though and I like the curves that the roads offer...

    The problem with placing the Long, Tall Washington Monument anywhere but the center of the frame is distortion. Big time crazy things happen to the lines of the structure when you shoot with ultra wide angles and if you don't shoot with ultra wides you can't get close to the thing.

    Because of the strength of the lines of the path and the clouds, centered works for me here. Beautiful sky. Nice capture.
