Washed up

[Shooter Tiff]

I shot some photos for a friends family and gave them a disk to do their own printing. I got one printed as a test and it came out with a green wash. I have a new laptop that seems well calibrated, but it didn't look green on my screen. I have been told in the past on this sight that some of my photos may have a colour cast to them, but that was on my old pc. I took it to the best printer in town so I am wondering if it is my photo or if their printers have a wash to them. This was also my first ever "photo shoot" so any compositional or technical suggestions would also be greatly appreciated.

2nd shot is crisp and very nice..don't know about the color cast. I just go with my instincts..I mean consider color blind people and their perception. Everyone has a opinion based on perception.

..that being said I think I would lower levels on number 2 to start and go from there.

On my monitor there is a very slight green cast in the second one but I haven't calibrated for a while and wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it.
Doesn't whoever does your printing do a color correction?

I agree, the 2nd shot is the strongest for me as well. It needs a slight contrast boost but that's about i. I also like the first one and the strong lines of the wood thingy, only if the kid in blue was turned around and was showing his face through one of the boxes, that woulda made it stronger, i think. nice ones .

here is adjusted levels and some hue/saturation , contrast adjustment. I will delete if you would like.

I downloaded #2 and checked the color of the fur on the hood, the face and the snow with Elements v6 and detect no green. - TF

I'm not seeing any green cast in any shot. The third may have a VERY slight magenta cast, but certainly nothing to worry about. Agree completely with everything Leels said.

Nice shots. I agree that #2 is the strongest and that it might benefit from a little boost in contrast.

I do like the edit. So that was just a slight contrast adjustment?
I should ask about colour correction, but I was really wanting to make the process easy for them to make their own prints so I was hoping that it would just print perfectly every time.

Have you thought about cropping the photo ever so slightly?

So that the shadow in the bottom left is smaller.

I don't think that I would want to crop it so close to the face.

sorry, I've been out. I did an levels adjustment first mainly for the background..looked a little hazy. Then the hue/saturation to get the orange to pop some, finally contrast to get all the cap blacks and blondes to pop as well as the background.
