    Warning Sign

Back to the docks. I have been thinking about doing this one for some time. First I had to find and steal the saw horse. LOl. Anyway what do you think?

    Re: Warning Sign

I love it, Greg. Makes us wonder what happened here when we look at the warning signal, the hardhat and the bottle laying there on the edge of the dock.
    Your composition is perfect, too.

Did you really set up this shot? Thats great, i did once like this on a beach scene. I'm glad to see you workin it!

    Re: Warning Sign

I agree with Gary on the composition, nice job setting this up. My little nit here is the image is a tad flat for my taste. I would especially like to see the waring strips on the saw horse pop a bit more and perhaps a little more contrast in the planks of the dock.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Re: Warning Sign

Yes Gary I set this up. I looked for a sign for a couple of weeks and found this one abandoned in a ditch. I rigged a wire so I could turn the light on during the exposure and then cloned the wire. Thanks OT I will add a little sat and contrast and see how it looks.

My only thoughts on this Greg is just how "abandoned" was the warning sign(sawhorse)??

love it, nice job. I see an unfinished, abandoned bridge or dead end. I think the flat/muted colors work (i.e. a sunset wouldn't seem right to me).

    Re: Warning Sign

Greg -- I love the sign and dock and everything else in the foreground. I just hate how the horizon cuts though (behind) the light. Great level of light here, just dark enough for some mystery.

    Re: Warning Sign

Thanks Caleb, GB, funny you should mention that I really thought hard on where to place the light. I have a version with the light higher, but no bottle, shoes instead. I will post it after I process it.

    Re: Warning Sign

Here is another version GB. I really took my time and tried several things. But it was cold and the wind was blowing hard, At one point the hard hat blew off of the deck. It had movement in some of the exposures.

I think I like the first one better but couldn't tell you why nor offer any advice.

    Greg,

    Where's his lunch?

I like both but would like a bit more contrast to make it pop a bit more.

Mind you I am using my laptop to view because I had a HDD crash on my desktop (Photography system) so laptop is not calibrated yet.
