    Warm Up

Several models warming up at a photo shoot yesterday. Real pix to come, but I sort of like the story this one tells. Comments?

Always love the "behind the scenes" shots. Nice natural framing on this one with the dark shirt left and the umbrella/tripod right.

    Re: Warm Up

The one on the left seems more assertive, firm posture, direct angle of face, the way shes holding her arm. The one on the right is doing the opposite, lowered chin, hands, looking down and away. She seems meek in comparison.

What was the goal of this project?

    Re: Warm Up

Thanks for comments. I also find the "behind the scenes" shots informative. Someone once told me that he goes to model photo shoots or runway events not to take pix of the models, but of the photographers shooting the models. Sorta reverse phychology or something.

Anbesol, it was a class on glamour lighting for models. About 15 students and, surprisingly, 10 models, and they even with a wait list for the models. You are spot on with the demeanors of the models.. the brunette model was very confident and the blonde was sorta chilled out that day. Her style is friendlier anyway rather than the conquer the world approach.

    Re: Warm Up

Those women are not the "model" type. They look more like dressed-up housewives. Real models are not necessarily beautiful but edgy and usually produce better results than just pretty girls. I think the final result is always determined by the first step which is selecting the right model for the shoot. Thats just my opinion.

I think for a lighting class on glamour, the models matter less, and the learning matters more.

    Re: Warm Up

Asmarlak, odd comment... Why do you feel that these aren't models, but dressed-up housewives? I actually find them quite the opposite, the brunette especially having some great moves. Not all models are "edgy" .. it depends on the shoot - fashion, glamour, avant garde, etc.

More pix to come. Thks too livin and grid.

Why aren't they model types...oh I know because they aren't heroin sheek, anorexic thin. About time to use some normal looking women.
