That's why it's in critique!! I loved the lines and shadow, but it might not work as a photo, I'm not too sure, hence the post.

    Brian,

    Works for me.

Hey Seb, notice any focusing issues at all with the camera since you got it, like many others have mentioned all over the Internet (probably specifically dpreview.com).

    Peter,

Haven't noticesd anything. SO far the shots have been tack sharp. Is the focus perfect? No, not every time, but neither was either fo my D100s, or my F100 or my N80...AF is never going to be dead-on everytime. I am sure there were some duds out there, but the focusing issues wereharped with the D100 as well when it first came out, and neighter of my samples (three actually since I returned the first one) exhibited any focusing problems, and neither does this 10D.

Great new Seb, glad you didn't get a dud. Also glad you sorted that numbering issue out.

Thanks Peter. You know, I was messing around with both of my lenses tonight, and I came to the conclusion that the live focus area is MUCH larger than the indicators. Several shots looked like there was backfocusing, until I eliminated areas of high contrast that were closeto the bracket, after that it nailed focus 100% of the time, over twenty shots and each was dead-on.

Yeah, the numbering really threw me off at first, but I went ahead and reformatted every card I have in a computer to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    Settings?

As a 10D owner I would like to know what settings you used. RAW/JPEG? (If RAW how to you convert? ) Contrast/Color/Sharpness? ISO? etc etc.

That is a great shot and I want to make sure I'm using the best settings.

You are right about that Seb, it does show good line, shadow and... repetition and pattern in the bricks!
Even if it was shot with a Canon camera... ;)
I suspect, you will be getting a lot of crap for your sell out, for a sometime..

ISO 100, JPEG, all standard settings.

I have found that there is little difference between the quality from RAW and JPEG with this camera, in fact I see none. The only benefit of RAW here is the added exposure lattitude. I have been shooting JPEGS and find the quality to be better than D100 RAWS, both in sharpness and resolution.

    MTBBrian,

    Sebastian,

To some it may look like a "snapshot", but one would have to know what they were doing to shoot the shot you did. The lines , shadows brick patterns, textures all work to make what looks like a very simple shot, which is why it is so appealing. Very easy to look at and admire the "neatness" of the whole shot. IMO it took an experienced photgrapher to see shoot the shot you did. Good one

    Thanks everyone for your time.

I dunno, I think I might try it as a B&W, the color is really losing the appeal it had before.
