    Waiting for the Storm

I was trying to get this cliff face in the filtered sunlight when this storm came up out of nowhere and forced the issue. Lightning, hail, and heavy rain beat me to my pickup truck. But, I managed to get this one shot.

    Re: Waiting for the Storm

Great shot LC. I think these are the kind of shots that make photography exciting. Too bad you didnt have a temp shelter set up so that you could have stayed out there and got more shots.

I see you shrank and compressed the image for the posting. Watch the compression there, cause you are getting some artifacts around the cliff/sky transition areas. Otherwise, very good catch.

    Re: Waiting for the Storm

Thanks for the comments GB. You're encouraging. I am new at this type of thing and I do struggle with getting the picture down to the right size for posting without losing detail. I was very disappointed with how it posted. I'll just keep trying diffrerent techniques until I get it right.

very exciting. Great color. Could be a little darker to emphasize the clouds.

    Re: Waiting for the Storm

Right place, right time. Nice light and a storm coming in too - good job! I like the plants in the lower left, helping the foreground and balancing it against the rocks more towards the right and in the background. Only thing is that I would like to see more of the storm but in conditions like that you usually have to shoot quick and run.

Check the Help or Digital Imaging forums for info about resizing - or post a new thread. It would help to mention what software you're using.

Great shot. Try posting the picture in the gallery first and then linking your post to the large version of the image and you'll get a lot less loss.
