    "Waiting For Spring" Please critque

I was trying to capture the end of winter-- the long awaited spring. Feel free to say whatever you want . Shot w/ an Oly e3, aperture priority, soft contrast, high saturation, 1/250 sec. @ f. 3.3, ISO 250, no flash, high gain. Very little post processing.

I like the idea, exposure and color but am a little unsure about your placement of the chair pretty much in the center of the frame.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Sorry, doesn't do it for me, I don't like the angle you took, which resulted in an akward composition.

Ok, you've heard what is wrong with this shot regarding composition. All my thoughts were already said somewhat. but what i really like about it is the lighting. I think you nailed that. I love how everything is some what in the shade and the sun rays are highlighting your subject. it brings out a very nice goldish brown colour to the seat .

I like the idea you are trying to create, however I feel the strong feel from the trees and fence in the background overpower the subject of the chair. Now, had the chair been a teak boat chair or similar the weight in the shot (for me at least) would feel better. S

I think the trees could be a little less powerful. Thanks for the critque... Dan

I think you cropped the wrong side. I think the tree on the right with the rock adds just a little more than the tree on the left. I think the chair should have been on the left third of the frame. I just think it just works better when an image flows left to right. You might also consider cropping some of the top, just below the hinge on the fence. I agree the exposure and lighting are good.

Composition is not just about how you crop an image...

Crop the tree on the left out. Its stopping the viewer from entring the picture to view the subject. This also has the benefit of throwing the chair off centre. I would even consider cropping this as a square shot from the left so balancing the height with the length of the bottom.
